Druk path trek
Day 1 Paro
Your guide will be waiting for you at the Paro Airport. We will then drive you to the hotel, freshen up and then exploring of the Beautiful valley begins, firstly with the Dzong followed by the Watch Tower (TA Dzong) and then the Kichu Lhakhang. Later in the evening you can stroll in the town on your own, just be careful of the dogs. After dinner you can prepare for yourself for the Druk Path Trek
Day 1 Paro to Jele Dzong
Time 3-4 hrs/ Distance 8Km/ Altitude gain 1100m/ Altitude loss: 0/ Difficulty Moderate
From Paro drive one hrs, through farm road till Damchena Village 2880above National Museum. After the farm road trail gradually ascend up the hill through the forest of Pine, Fir & Rhododendron trees. After trekking 2-3 hrs we will reach the ridge marked with a small Chorten/stupa made with piled of stones that will be just before the Jele Dzong.Your campsite would be in a Yak pasture below Jele Dzong. (3480 m) If the weather is clear you can see the upper Paro valley far below with Jumolhari and other snowcapped peaks in the distance. Evening: visit the Jele Dzong Built in 15thCentury by Ngawang Chogyal, now it houses the monks of Paro Dzong.
Day 2 Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha
Time 4-5 hrs/ Distance 10 Km/ Altitude gain 280 m/ Altitude loss 50m/ Difficulty Moderate
Begin trek climbing up Jelela Pass (3560 m) walking through the ridge of Jele Dzong and then ascend gradually up the cone shaped hill making few short descend, through the Rhododendron, Fir and Cider forest to the Jangchuk Lhakha Meadow. You will see Yaks and Yak herders around the campsite in early spring and late autumn. Overnight: camp altitude 3760 m.
Day 3 Jangchuklakha to jimilangtso
Time 5 hrs/ Distance 11km/ Altitude gain 330/ Altitude loss 230/ Difficulty: Moderate
After a short climb from the camp we will reach at Tshokam Yak herder’s camp, where we will come across two trails, right one goes to Larithang and Tseluney and left trail goes to Jimilangtsho which leads uphill to the ridge of Jangchulakha and follows through the ridge to Langi Bja La rock which looks like a Ox head, from here the trail ascend uphill for about one hrs and descends down to the campsite by the lake Jimilangtso. 3870 m. On a clear day we will be able to see the view of Jumolhari and Jichu drakey from the ridge of Jimilangtsho and Jangchulhakha.
Day 4 Jimilangtsho to Simkota
Time 4 – 5 hrs/ Distance 11m/ Altitude gain 240 m/ Altitude loss 40 m/ Difficulty moderate
The trail leads gradually uphill through the draft Rhododendron trees and then passes by Lake Jenetsho at 3950m. Janetso trail will lead us up the hill to the Pass (La) at 415o between Simkota and Jenetso it’s of 3hrs walk. Shortly it will descend down to Semkota Camp above the lake. Altitude 4110m.
Day 5 Simkota to Thimphu via Phajoding (18 Km)
Time 6-7 hrs/ Distance 18 km/ Altitude gain 40m/ Altitude loss 1590 m/ Difficulty Moderate
The trek begins with a gradual climb up to Labanala 4210m highest pass that we will come across in Druk Path, slowly the trail descends and winds through the dwarf Rhododendron ridge til the Phumela Pass (4080 m) above Phajoding. If the weather is fair we will have a spectacular view of mount Gangkar Punsum the highest mountain in Bhutan as well as other Himalayan mountain ranges.Trekking downhill to Phajoding Monastery (3750m) should not take you long. With a lunch on arrival, we will complete our final Druk Path Trek with pick up at Motithang (2520 m). Overnight at Thimphu
Day 6 Thimphu – Paro
Thimphu is the capital of Bhutan, It’s a place of opportunity, where you will see people from all walks of
life. Morning visit to Changangkha lhakhang, the zori chu sum institute and the textile museum and then drive to
Paro, on the way we will visit Tacgogang Gompa. This private temple was founded by the Tibetan saint, Thangthong Gyelpo, famously know as the “Iron Bridge Lama” here you will also see his master piece work. Over night at Paro
Day 7 Departure
